Latiff is a design and digital buff, with over 20 years of corporate experience in both the public and private sector domains. He had led and directed many greenfield projects and assignments that entailed applications of design thinking principles and methodologies under various circumstances such as physical infrastructure design, service process design, learning curriculum design, event experience design as well as software and systems design. In short, he is an active practitioner of design thinking. Notable projects that he had a strong hand in design include the multi-million dollar project of the 2 National Adult Learning Campuses (i.e. Lifelong Learning Institute in Paya Lebar and Devan Nair Institute of Employment and Employability in Jurong East). Latiff also spearhead a design thinking exercise as part of SG50 public outreach initiatives to draw ideas and solutions from the public and industry stakeholders. He also oversaw and led the design of a prototype public service centre and service processes that catered to adult working professionals in their job and training search.
As more and more of our life experiences are brought into the digital domain, Latiff has also delved into applying design thinking principles and techniques to shape web and mobile users' experience. Over the past 8 years, Latiff has been involved in designing websites, mobile games and applications for both commercial and public use. Latiff believes that design thinking can start even at a very young age which had also led him to specially designed and delivered programmes on Design Thinking programmes for the young ones.
